Our Voice 101 - Understanding Services, Support, and Community Resources

Program Overview

Our Voice 101 is an educational training designed to help community members, partner organizations, and professionals understand the full scope of services provided by Our Voice. The program offers a clear overview of available support for survivors of sexual and interpersonal violence and explains how to connect individuals to the appropriate resources.

This training focuses on building shared understanding, strengthening referral pathways, and increasing confidence among community partners when supporting survivors. Participants learn not only what services Our Voice provides, but also the limits of those services, helping ensure survivors receive accurate information and timely support.

Our Voice 101 is grounded in trauma informed principles and emphasizes respectful, survivor centered responses across all settings.

Why This Training Matters

Survivors often reach out to trusted community members before contacting advocacy organizations directly. When community partners have accurate information, survivors are more likely to receive appropriate, timely support.

Misunderstandings about available services or referral processes can create barriers for survivors. Our Voice 101 helps reduce these barriers by clarifying services, expectations, and pathways to care.

By strengthening community knowledge and collaboration, this training supports a more connected and responsive system of care for survivors.

How the Training Works

Our Voice 101 is delivered as an interactive, one hour presentation that allows time for questions and discussion. The training is designed to be accessible and informative without overwhelming participants.

Training elements include facilitated discussion, clear explanations of services, and opportunities to ask questions about referrals and support scenarios.

The training can be delivered virtually or in person and can be adapted to meet the needs of different audiences.

What Participants Will Gain

By the end of the training, participants will:

  • Understand the full range of services offered by Our Voice

  • Know how to connect survivors to appropriate support
